Statement
The need to create is a permanent fixture in who I am as a person. I use Art as a tool for expression when words fail me. The presence of Art helps build communities, because it gives us a chance to view the world through someone else’s eyes, and give us a view into their soul. There is no more intimate way to communicate, and it makes us stronger as a whole.
Biography
Olivia grew up in a blended family, sharing her time between the Southern Oregon Coast and Southern California. From an early age, she was very shy and used art to make friends in school by gifting them the pages she made. In middle school, classmates were requesting portraits, and by high school, her mind was broadened by her school art courses. She began painting with watercolors and ink, and acrylics. By 16 her local art museum showcased one of her paintings, and she went on to attend Southern Oregon Community College where she majored in Art. In her adult life she worked her way up as a freelance artist; created works for individual clients, was hired on as a fine detailed painter for a specialty wine bottle company, and later transitioned into digital illustration. Olivia is currently doing contract work, designing coloring book pages for the coloring book app on Apple called Pigment. She lives happily with her husband of 11 years and their two rescue pups in the Bay Area.
